1.      Cross Country – Welcome to another Cross Country season.  Practice will start today. Please meet in room 181 at 2:30 ready to run.  Practice will run Monday to Thursday after school.  Coaches:  Ms. White, Ms. Pardo, Mr. Petrus 

2.      Community Crew – Weekly Volunteer Opportunities for Youth through the North Lambton Community Health Centre.  See Mrs. Petrus for more info!!

3.      College/University Visits – Sign up in Student Services to attend the college and university presentations that will be happening this fall.  Lambton College and King’s University will be here next week.  (Mrs. Petrus) 

4.      Colour Run is Friday! – Students participating in colour run, with their colour run shirt on, will go to their last period class for attendance.  Once Attendance is taken go to the track and wait for the event to begin.  Leave everything in your locker!  Students not participating will be expected to attend class as normal.

5.      Forest Fall Fair Ambassador – The Forest Fall Fair Ambassador competition is Thursday, September 24th @ 7:30.  Deadline to apply is September 18th.  Cash, prizes, $1000 bursary.  Forms are available on the fair website or call Karen 519-402-3269.

6.      Volunteer/Job opportunity.  The Thedford Optimist Club is looking for students to join our canteen team at the Legacy Recreation Centre!  A great first job opportunity!  Must be at least 14 years old and in Grade 9 or higher.  No previous work experience required – we’ll help you get started!  See Mrs. Petrus for more info!!

7.      EAC the Eagle Activity Council, is the club for you if you want to help plan and organize school events.  Our first meeting will be today September 17th in Mrs. Sanders’ room 245.  Everyone welcome!

8.      Attention all chess players – Please come speak to Mr. Singh if you are interested in joining the chess club this year.  The goal is to meet twice a week for games.  Let Mr. Singh know if you want to play. 

9.      Key Club – Did you know that you’re required to complete 40 hours of community service to graduate from high school?  Are you looking for ways to earn your community service hours?  Perhaps you already completed your community service hours but you enjoy giving back to the school and community.  Please see Mrs. Hoskin if interested.

10. Esports Club –Thank you to everyone who came out to try eSports this week!  We’re meeting every Monday and Wednesday.  If you want to join, reach out to Mr. Medd or Ms. Herrington – we’d love to have you on the team!

11. Book Club – Read to dive into great stories, share your thoughts and discover your next favorite read?  The Book Club is kicking off its first meeting today at lunch September 17th!  We will meet once a month to chat about our latest picks.  If you want to join the fun and get on the list, go see Ms. Herrington in the library to sign up today! 

12. This year’s Terry Fox Colour Run will take place on Friday, September 18th, last period.  To participate you must purchase a Colour Run shirt for $15 in the main foyer at lunch, starting today.  Proceeds from the shirt sales will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.  You must purchase one to participate.

13. Rugby 7’s!  Rugby 7’s Try-Outs. Men & Women’s Rugby Tryouts will continue outside on Thursday.  Rain or Shine.  We’ll meet outside Boys’ change room at 2:30 pm.

14. LEAD (Learn, Evolve & Accept Diversity) will begin meeting next week!  LEAD is a safe and welcoming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ students and allies.  Come connect, find support, and stand together.

15. Junior Boy’s Volleyball – Thank you to everyone who attended tryouts this year, the roster for the Junior Boys Volleyball team is posted outside of the boys Phys Ed Office.
