1.      The 1st NLSS Chess tournament is underway.  This week we will be meeting Wednesday, April 29th and Friday May 1st.  Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 players.  (Mr. Singh)

2.      Key Club – meeting today at the beginning of lunch in room 313.  We will discuss our final events of the school year.  This is a great opportunity for you to earn some of your community service hours that are required for graduation, so don’t miss out!  New members are always welcome!

3.      Volunteer Opportunity – We are currently looking for volunteers to help build skateboarding obstacles for our summer camps (all genders inclusive).  We are looking for STEM-interested, woodshop, and art students to volunteer 1 day a week after school starting in May (at the Grand Bend Art Centre/Skatepark behind the Legion).  See Student Services for more information.

4.      The Concert and Jazz Bands are to be congratulated for their performances last night at the festival.  The Jazz Band won a trophy for the Traditional Jazz Band category and the Concert Band received excellent scores and won the category with their epic performance of Lord of the Rings.  There will be no concert band rehearsal after school today.  (Mr. MacDougall)

5.      Attention NLSS Class of 2026 – The Google Classroom is still accepting Senior Quotes.

       Don’t miss out on leaving your mark on our final year together!!

6.      Girls’ Soccer – attention all girls soccer players, there will be a brief team meeting today at the beginning of lunch in the gym.  Players are excused from class today at 2 pm to travel to our game in Petrolia.  Please see Mr. Wilson if you have any questions.

7.      Girls’ rugby –Excused at 1:50 PM today for our game against St. Pat’s this afternoon.  Team members, please get changed here before leaving.  There will be pizza and treats with St. Pat’s after the game!

8.      There will be a mandatory slo pitch meeting today at the start of lunch in the gym.  Please bring your signed permission forms to the meeting if you have not handed them in already.  You cannot play next week without signed forms.

9.      RELAY 2026 – Relay permission forms and fees are due to Mrs. Sanders by next Friday, May 1st.

10. Yearbook Sale!  Starting on April 27th, you can pre-order your very own copy of the 2025/2026 Journey Through the Decades themed Yearbook on School Cash Online for the low, low price of $45.  Get your copy to show off to your peers, classmates, and family all the cool stuff that North Lambton Secondary School has to offer, such as the Colour Run, Relay for Life, Clubs, Classes, and so much more. 

If you regret not getting the 2024/2025 yearbook, you’re in luck, as we have 11 copies left which can also be purchased on School Cash Online for $45.

11. The Kineto Youth Film Contest will be due May 15th, get started on your entry now!  If you are interested in using film equipment or editing software, please speak to Mr. Needham or Miss Syer.

12. Boys’ soccer players – meet in room 145 at the start of lunch to get their soccer jersey.  Season starts tonight vs LCCVI.  (Mr. Vandenberg)

  1. Your boy's soccer kicked off their first AA soccer season going into Lancer territory. Not knowing what to expect your boys walked onto the pitch ready and determined to show what wearing the Eagle emblem is all about. Within minutes your Eagles dominated the play, with pinpoint passing by the team they went up one by Owen T. Then with an unfortunate call against us, Oliver S had to step up and face a penalty shot. Not showing any signs of nerves, he made the save and the captain Ryder M followed that with a goal Heading into the second half the boys were not yet finished. In the second half Kostia V got a hattrick and Owen got one more to lock in the victory for your eagles. Final score 6 to 0 for your Eagles, Brennan S awarded the shutout and special mention to AJ W, Jacob V and Tyler R for commanding the middle Next game on Thursday against Wallaceburg. (Mr. Vandenberg)
