1. National Volunteer Week – April 19-25 – Through this year’s National Volunteer Week, we celebrate the ways in which people in Canada have ignited volunteerism in their communities, aligning NVW 2026 with Ignite Volunteerism, deepening our collective impact. Ignite Volunteerism is a year-long effort to elevate the role of civic participation, rebuild volunteer infrastructure, and celebrate volunteer stories.
2. The 1st NLSS Chess tournament is underway. This week we will be meeting Wednesday, April 29th and Friday May 1st. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 players. (Mr. Singh)
3. Girls rugby – a game against St. Pat’s has been scheduled for next week on Wed. April 29th. You need 8 practices to play.
4. Staff and students are invited to the Drama Department’s Variety Show on Friday at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Buy tickets at nlss.lkdsb.net. (Mrs. Bernardi/Mr. MacDougall)
5. Slo-Pitch practice will take place Monday and Wednesday next week at the softball diamond in town. We will be starting at 3:00 pm to give everyone time to walk over. Practice will end at 4:00 PM. If you cannot attend, please speak to Mr. Eberlin or Mrs. Sanders as soon as possible.
6. RELAY 2026 – Remember to turn in your permission forms and fees in the main foyer at lunch!! (Mrs. Sanders)
7. Yearbook Sale! Starting on April 27th, you can pre-order your very own copy of the 2025/2026 Journey Through the Decades themed Yearbook on School Cash Online for the low, low price of $45. Get your copy to show off to your peers, classmates, and family all the cool stuff that North Lambton Secondary School has to offer, such as the Colour Run, Relay for Life, Clubs, Classes, and so much more.
If you regret not getting the 2024/2025 yearbook, you’re in luck, as we have 11 copies left which can also be purchased on School Cash Online for $45.
8. The Kineto Youth Film Contest will be due May 15th, get started on your entry now! If you are interested in using film equipment or editing software, please speak to Mr. Needham or Miss Syer.
9. If you are hoping to take a COOP either this summer or next year and are hoping to be in a hospital, Please see Mr. Smit or Mr. Willemse ASAP.
