1.       National Volunteer Week – April 19-25 – Through this year’s National Volunteer Week, we celebrate the ways in which people in Canada have ignited volunteerism in their communities, aligning NVW 2026 with Ignite Volunteerism, deepening our collective impact.  Ignite Volunteerism is a year-long effort to elevate the role of civic participation, rebuild volunteer infrastructure, and celebrate volunteer stories.

2.      Ridvan (meaning Paradise) is the twelve-day Bahai Faith festival commemorating Bahaullah’s declaration that he was a Manifestation of God (April 21-May 2)

3.      Chess Club will meet in Room 184 on Tuesday, April 21th.  Please arrive for 11 AM.  Tournament play starts tomorrow.  Please let Mr. Singh know if you wish to participate.  It is not too late to sign up. Never played chess?  Want to learn?  We can teach you!  All are welcome.

4.      Girls’ rugby will practice tonight after school.  Make sure to dress for the weather!

5.      Jazz Band – rehearsal at lunch today.  Next Tuesday, there will be a guitar workshop in the music room.  See Mr. MacDougall if you are interested in attending.

6.      Slo-pitch practice today has been cancelled because the softball field is closed.  We will now be starting on Wednesday from 3-4 pm.  If you cannot attend please speak to Mr. Eberlin or Mrs. Sanders as soon as possible.

7.      Book Club will meet this Thursday in the library Fishbowl at lunch.  (Miss Syer)

8.      RELAY 2026 – Remember to turn in your permission forms and fees in the main foyer at lunch!!  (Mrs. Sanders)

9.      Yearbook Sale!  Starting on April 27th, you can pre-order your very own copy of the 2025/2026 Journey Through the Decades themed Yearbook on School Cash Online for the low, low price of $45.  Get your copy to show off to your peers, classmates, and family all the cool stuff that North Lambton Secondary School has to offer, such as the Colour Run, Relay for Life, Clubs, Classes, and so much more. 

If you regret not getting the 2024/2025 yearbook, you’re in luck, as we have 11 copies left which can also be purchased on School Cash Online for $45.

10. The Kineto Youth Film Contest will be due May 15th, get started on your entry now!  If you are interested in using film equipment or editing software, please speak to Mr. Needham or Miss Syer.
