1. Arab Heritage Month – April is officially recognized as Arab Heritage Month in Canada, a time to celebrate the rich culture, history, and profound contributions of Arab Canadians to society.
2. Genocide Remembrance, Condemnation and Prevention Month (April is designated) – This month honors victims, supports survivors, and educates on the root causes of genocide, aiming to prevent future atrocities. It highlights major historical atrocities and calls to fight hatred.
3. Girls rugby will practice tonight after school. Make sure to dress for the weather. Our game next week has been cancelled. Stay tuned for a new date!
4. LEAD meets today at lunch in the library career centre.
5. There will be a slo-pitch practice on Monday and Wednesday next week at the diamonds in town. All interested players need to join the Google classroom. The code is posted outside of the girls phys ed office. If you cannot attend please speak to Mr. Eberlin or Mrs. Sanders as soon as possible.
6. Key Club – We will be having a meeting today at the beginning of lunch in room 313. We will be discussing our spring events. (Mrs. Hoskin)
7. The teacher/student Relay for Life band will practice today at lunch. Next Tuesday there will be a guitar workshop in the music room. See Mr. MacDougall if you are interested in attending.
8. Relay 2026 – Remember to turn in your permission forms and fees in the main foyer at lunch!! (Mrs. Sanders)
9. Chess Club – will meet in Room 184 today, please arrive for 11 AM. (Mr. Singh)
10. The Imperial Theatre Field trip will be happening this Thursday, April 16th. We will be leaving NLSS at 10AM. Students will be called to meet in front of the office around 9:50 AM Please wait for the announcement to be called. Don’t forget to bring a lunch or money to buy it. If you have not yet paid your $40, you must do so today. (Mrs. Bernardi)
11. The Student Success Room is closed this week. Mrs. Sanders’ students sign in with Mr. Murree!! (April 14-April 17)
