1. Drama Club rehearses on Tuesday and Friday after school this week.
2. Girls Soccer – practice for today is going to be cancelled. We are going to practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week after school until 4 pm. New players are still welcome to come out and play. Please dress for the weather and bring your cleats. Please see Mr. Wilson if you have any questions.
3. The Oculus is back for this next week and a half, but it will be for class use only! Students, if you would like to use this, please ask your teachers to book it. Very limited spots are still available. Ask Miss Syer for more details.
4. April 8th – Birthday of Buddha, or Vesak/Wesak, is a major holiday celebrating the birth, enlightenment, and death of Prince Siddhartha Gautama, featuring rituals like bathing Buddha statues and lighting lanterns.
5. April 8th – International Roma Day celebrates Romani culture and raises awareness of the challenges faced by Europe’s largest ethnic minority. Established in 1971 in Lond, it commemorates the first World Romani Congress, which adopted the Roma flag and anthem. The day promotes human rights and calls for fighting discrimination.
6. April 8th – International Day of Pink – a global anti-bullying and anti-homophobia event that encourages wearing pink to stand against bullying, discrimination, and queerphobia, often featuring a 2SLGBTQIA+ focus. The initiative was founded in 2007 by Canadian youth after witnessing a student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt.
7. Senior Boys’ soccer tryouts will continue tonight, tomorrow and Thursday after school. Dress warm. If you cannot make, please let one of the coaches know. We will be making cuts this week so make sure you are part of the Boys’ Soccer Google classroom.
