1. April is Autism Acceptance Month, dedicated to fostering inclusion, understanding, and support for individuals on the autism spectrum rather than just raising awareness. Celebrated annually, it highlights the need for acceptance through community events, education, and advocacy.
2. Passover is a major eight-day Jewish holiday that commemorates the biblical story of the Israelites’ Liberation from slavery in Egypt over 3,000 years ago. It celebrates freedom, family, and faith.
3. Girls Rugby will meet today at lunch in room 315 to view some game footage and learn rules. There is also practice tonight after school. Please bring your mouthguards!
4. Just before 6:30 tonight, you will be able to watch the first moon launch since 1972. See the visual announcements to see recommended reads we have in the library related to space travel! (Miss Syer)
5. Key Club meeting today at lunch. We will be discussing our spring events. Great opportunity to earn community service hours. New members are always welcome! (Mrs. Hoskin)
6. LEAD meets today at lunch in the library career centre.
7. Chess Club will be running a tournament in April. See Mr. Singh if you wish to participate.
8. Girls Soccer – we are going to practice Monday and Wednesday this week. We will also plan to practice next Tuesday (April 7th). New players are welcome to come out and play. Please dress for the weather and bring your cleats. Please see Mr. Wilson if you have any questions.
9. Teacher/Student band for Relay for Life will rehearse today at lunch. Concert Band will rehearse after school.
