Discovery Healthcare is an initiative supported by the Office of Distributed Education at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and is facilitated by 1st and 2nd-year medical students. The purpose of this camp is to engage and mentor high school students throughout Southwestern Ontario to consider healthcare career opportunities available to them, learn basic clinical skills, and have fun!

Camp Participants will learn about career opportunities available in healthcare, the requirements to pursue these paths and become aware of the unique aspects of healthcare in their community. Activities for the camp may include:
· Clinical skills sessions (suturing, casting, stethoscope activities, injections)
· Talks from healthcare professionals and opportunities for clinical exposure
· Discussions involving the path to various healthcare professions (medicine, nursing, pharmacy, EMS, and dentistry)
· An introduction to case-based learning and sample diagnostic cases
· Recreation sessions incorporating fun and team-building activities
