1.      Magha Puja (maj-gah poo-jah) is the second most important Buddhist festival, celebrating a gathering that was held between the Buddha and 1,250 of his first disciples, which, according to tradition, preceded the custom of periodic recitation of discipline by monks.  On the day, Buddhists celebrate the creation of an ideal and exemplary community.

2.      Chotrul Duchen (Cho-trul Doo-chen) is one of the four Tibetan Buddhist festivals commemorating four events in the life of the Buddha.  To celebrate, Tibetan Buddhists make lamps, traditionally of yak butter, in the shapes of flower, trees, birds, and other auspicious symbols.  They also create elaborate displays for the lamps in their homes and in public spaces, sometimes erecting structures as large as a building.

3.      Lantern Festival is a traditional Chinese festival, marking the finale of Chinese New Year celebrations, symbolizing family unity, reconciliation, and peace.  Traditions include displaying colourful lanterns, solving lantern riddles, eating sweet glutinous rice balls, and watching lion dances.
