1. Black History Month – an annual celebration to commemorate the achievements of Black Canadians and their communities who, throughout history, have done so much to make Canada a culturally diverse, compassionate, and prosperous country.
2. Who Wants Chocolate?!? Headed on the 2026 International Trip? Don’t miss the chance to help fund your travels! See Ms. Pardo in Room 207 at lunch to pick up your Rheo Chocolate fundraising kit. Love Chocolate? Support our students and treat yourself to some amazing Rheo Chocolate. Orders will be delivered before Easter – find a trip participant to place your order!
3. Girls Hockey – The Girls hockey season came to an end with a 3-1 loss to Wallaceburg. Ava S was very busy in the first period making many key saves. Emmalee G would score the lone goal for the Eagles as the girls would put a tonne of pressure on the Tartans but were unable to even the score. The coaches would like to thank all the girls for their hard work and dedication this season. It has been a very fun year and we look forward to bigger and better things next year. Team members include: Ava S, Emma U, Brooke R, Vanessa L, Rhyan K, Makenna V, Emmalee G, Kylee W, Edden J, Hailey R, Kylee B, Jocelyn F, Lainie R, Sammie L, Ally R, Clair E, Michelle T, Lylah W, and Bryanna B.
4. Boys Hockey – Yesterday the Boys hockey season came to end with a tough 4-3 shootout loss to Dresden. Tanner W was tested early and often and made many big saves to keep the Eagles in the game at times. Ben W, AJ W and Colten P on penalty shot did the scoring for the Eagles. Wyatt G would add another goal in the shootout. This was a season full of adversity and the coaches are very proud of the way the core of this team played all season long. Amazing job boys. Team members include: Tanner W, Mason G, Tyler R, Brody P, Tyler R, Wyatt G, Tyler V, Jack W, Ben W, AJ W, Nathan L, Colby C, Colten P, Emmett J, Ryder M and Kayden M.
5. Jr. Boys Hockey - Attention all Gr. 9 and 10 boys who are interested in playing on the Jr. Boys Hockey team this season. There is a sign up sheet outside the boys Phys. Ed office, please sign your name and look at the tryout information on the sheet.
The Jr. Boys season will consist of 2 tournaments, one in Strathroy and the other in London.

6. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, communal prayer, reflection, and community. It is also the month in which the Quran is believed to have been revealed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

9. This year’s Muskoka Woods Trip will be the second week of April. Please get your leader application forms in by the end of the day! Please see Mrs. Sanders with any questions.
10. Anyone interested in joining the Relay for Life Committee to help plan for Relay and Relay Rally should see Mrs. Sanders.
11. There is a Royal Canadian Legion Public Speaking Contest that will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026. If you are interested in registration for Junior/Intermediate/Senior will be at 2-2:30 pm in the Lounge. Speaking to start after registration is complete. You will need to Pre-register before February 15, 2026 by email. Fill out public speaking entry form and email to: vlcekjoyce@gmail.com.
12. Graduation students…the applications for the YMCA Celebration of Youth Awards is open! There are many different awards to pick from, everyone is eligible. Check out our Google classroom for graduates to get the link.
13. Adventures in Citizenship Conference in Ottawa. The Grand Bend Rotary Club is looking to sponsor a student to attend a citizenship conference in Ottawa this May. You must be between 16 and 18 years of age. See Mrs. Petrus for more information.
14. Students in grade 10, we are looking for someone to go to the HOBY Youth Leadership conference April 30-May 3rd. See Mrs. Petrus for more info! Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership organization’s mission is to motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference within our global society through understanding and action, based on effective and compassionate leadership.
15. Optimist Basketball – Attention all students for volunteer hours and like to play basketball. The Optimist Club is running their annual basketball camps starting Monday, March 23. The Grade 7-8’s will be on Monday nights and the Grade 5-6’s will be on Thursday nights. Helpers are needed for both groups. Please see the sign up sheet outside the Boys’ Phys.
