1. 1. A reminder that there will be a parent’s meeting for the Japan Trip tonight at 6:30 pm in the Library.
2. 2. Vocal Connection will rehearse today at lunch, and Concert Band will rehearse after school. Music Night – Thursday, January 15th.
3. 3. Art Room Open Studio: Room 316 – Finish the Semester Strong! Need extra time to wrap up a project or want to start something new? Room 316 will be open at lunch for all interested students on the following dates:
Tuesday, January 13 and Thursday, January 15
With the end of the semester approaching qui8ckly, this is the perfect chance to catch up on assignments, refine your portfolio, or simply enjoy some creative time. (Mrs. Smit)
4. 4. Reminder Graduation Retakes – Monday, January 19th and Tuesday, January 20th in the Career Centre in the Library
5.J 5. Junior Boy' Basketball – On Monday night our Junior Boys Basketball team won their second game of the season in convincing 58-41 win. Great defensive play and ball movement up the court resulted in many turnovers and fastbreak opportunities. Leading the way was Mason V with 14 points, Arie R with 11 points, and Jacob V with 8 points. Come out tonight and cheer on your Eagles as they take on the LCCVI Lancers at 5:30 in the Eagles Nest.
6. Community Hours Opportunity – The Forest Skating Club is looking for volunteers on Feb. 20, 21, 22. They are hosting a competition and could use some extra help those days. See the posting outside Student Services or ask Mrs. Petrus for more info.
7. Travel for Credit – EduTravel is excited to offer students currently in grade 9 a chance to earn a highschool credit while experiencing the ultimate road trip. Check out our amazing Summer Civics & Careers Program: Visit Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec. See Student Services for more info.

9. Happy Pongal Festival of Harvest – Pongal, a multi-day Hindu harvest festival celebrated by Tamils, begins today.

11. LEAD – (Learn, Evolve & Accept Diversity) meets today at lunch in the library career centre. LEAD is a safe and welcoming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ students and allies. Come connect, find support, and stand together.
12. Last night the Jr. and Sr. Girls Volleyball teams welcomed LCCVI to our gym. The Jrs fought hard in the first match but unfortunately fell in two close games. The Sr team battled back from a difficult game 1 loss to win games 2 and 3 and ultimately win the match. The Srs now sit in 2nd place in the standings, while the Jrs are comfortable in 3rd. Next up is a trip to Wallaceburg on Thursday night.
13. Chess Club will meet Friday, January 16th in room 184. All are welcome beginners and experienced players.
