Students from Ecole Hillcrest showcased their public speaking skills at the annual Lions Club of Petrolia Public Speaking Competition, held on March 23, 2025. This annual event provided a platform for young speakers to demonstrate their confidence, creativity, and persuasive abilities in front of an audience of peers, parents, and community members.
Participants from various grade levels delivered speeches on a range of topics, in English and in French, captivating the audience with their insightful perspectives and compelling delivery. The competition, a longstanding tradition hosted by the Lions Club, encourages students to develop essential communication skills that will benefit them throughout their academic and professional lives.
A panel of judges evaluated each speech based on content, delivery, and overall impact. Many of our students placed in the competition and some will even move on to the next level.
The Lions Club of Petrolia has been a strong supporter of youth development, and this event continues to be a highlight in the school calendar.
Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and enthusiasm. We look forward to seeing even more students take the stage in next year’s competition!
