Franco Ontarian flags

On September 25th, our school community came together in a vibrant celebration of Franco-Ontarian culture, proudly wearing green and white to honour the heritage and contributions of French-speaking Ontarians.

Throughout the day, students engaged in a variety of enriching activities that deepened their understanding of the French language and its importance in Ontario. They explored the preservation of the French language, learning about its historical roots and the efforts being made to keep it alive in our province.

Students also discovered the meaning behind the Franco-Ontarian flag, examining its symbols and colours through interactive lessons and creative flag colouring activities. The excitement continued with Franco-Ontarian bingo, where students matched cultural terms and symbols, and a thrilling escape room challenge where teams worked together to “rescue the French language” by solving clues—all in French!

Music filled the halls as students sang traditional songs, celebrating the joy and unity of the Francophone community. The highlight of the day was a whole-school assembly, led entirely in French by our Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, showcasing student leadership and language skills in a powerful and inspiring way.
