The students in Ms. McLaughlin and Mrs. Leavoy's Kindergarten class were buzzing with energy as they welcomed a very special guest from the Sarnia Sting: Beckham Edwards!

Beckham kicked things off by reading The Kindness Book by Todd Parr. The story sparked a wonderful classroom discussion where students shared:

 * Ways they have already practiced kindness.

 * New ideas for helpful things they can do for others.

 * Heartwarming stories of how others have shown kindness to them.

The "Stick with Kindness" 7-Day Challenge

Before he left, Beckham issued a challenge to the class and gave each student a BE Kind card. These cards allow students to record their acts of kindness, which can later be submitted for a prize!

To complete the "Stick with Kindness" challenge, students are encouraged to:

 * Give a Compliment: Use your words to make someone’s day brighter.

 * Lend a Hand: Help someone clean up or organize.

 * Include a Friend: Ensure no one feels left out.

 * Express Gratitude: Write a special note of appreciation to someone.

 * Be Kind to Yourself: Say three things you like about yourself.

 * Connect with Others: Learn something brand new about a peer.

 * Community Thanks: Show appreciation to an adult in your community.

It was a fantastic morning that reminded us how much of an impact one small act of kindness can have on our community!
