Student Nutrition

The Ontario Student Nutrition Program provides students with free, nutritious snacks, breakfasts, and lunches to support their learning and overall well‑being.

This program is available in our school and community locations across Ontario and is open to all children and youth.

At Bridgeview, we believe that a hungry stomach shouldn't stand in the way of a bright mind. Beginning in January 2026, Bridgeview Public School proudly joined the Ontario Student Nutrition Program, ensuring our students have access to the healthy fuel they need to stay focused, energized, and ready to learn.

Since launching the program, we have scaled up to provide over 400 snacks every week to our student body. We prioritize variety and nutrition to keep things exciting and balanced. Our rotating menu includes:

  • Fresh Produce: Crisp apples, bananas, grapes, snap peas, and carrots.

  • Protein & Dairy: Nutritious yogurt and cheese options.

  • Grains: Wholesome granola bars and cereal snacks.

To ensure the highest quality, our snacks are ordered and delivered weekly by Produce Express, bringing fresh, healthy options right to our school's front door.

The magic of the program at Bridgeview lies in its collaborative spirit. While organized by our dedicated staff volunteers, the daily operations serve as a daily life-skills opportunity for our ALLP students.

By taking a leadership role in the program, these students develop essential real-world life skills, including:

  • Health & Safety: Practicing proper hygiene and food safety protocols.

  • Organization: Preparing and sorting snack bins for the entire school.

  • Leadership: Delivering bins directly to each classroom.

  • Responsibility: Collecting bins and managing the daily clean-up process.

Through the Ontario Student Nutrition Program, we’re building confidence and independence, one snack at a time.
