Tilbury, ON - The Blenheim Bobcats archery team traveled to Tilbury District High School yesterday, April 30th, 2025, to compete in the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) regional tournament, showcasing their skills and determination against teams from across the region.
While the grade 9 boys team faced a significant challenge, going up against older and more experienced grade 11 and 12 archers from Tilbury, they demonstrated remarkable composure and held their own throughout the competition. Their spirited effort and unwavering focus are a testament to their dedication and the strong foundation of the Blenheim archery program.
The highlight of the day for the Bobcats came from the high school girls division, where grade 9 archer Zoe Thompson delivered an outstanding performance. Her consistent accuracy and steady nerves earned her a well-deserved 5th place medal, a significant achievement in a competitive field. Fellow Bobcat, Rachel Weibe, also showcased her talent, finishing just a few points behind Thompson, further highlighting the strength and depth of the Blenheim girls team.
The Blenheim Bobcats coaching staff expressed their pride in all the participating archers. "Every member of the team demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and a commitment to their training," commented Mrs. Marchand. "The grade 9 boys showed incredible resilience against older competitors, and Zoe's medal, along with Rachel's strong showing, is a fantastic accomplishment. We congratulate all our archers on their efforts and look forward to seeing their continued growth."
The OFAH NASP regional tournament provided a valuable opportunity for the Blenheim Bobcats to test their skills, gain competitive experience, and celebrate their passion for archery. The future looks bright for this talented group of young athletes. Congratulations to all the Blenheim Bobcats who participated!
