AMSS Returning to Lambton College for the Start of the School Year

As restoration work at Alexander MacKenzie Secondary School (AMSS) continues, students and staff will begin the 2026-2027 school year at Lambton College.

Significant progress has been made throughout the summer; however, the restoration project is not yet complete. At this time, the Lambton Kent District School Board anticipates that students will return to AMSS later this fall, once the building is ready to safely welcome everyone back.

The Board is grateful for the continued partnership and support of Lambton College during this transition. Last spring, approximately 200 AMSS students and staff were welcomed to the College campus, where learning continued in a supportive and positive environment. That partnership will continue as restoration efforts progress.

Beginning in September, AMSS will once again be based primarily in the South Building of Lambton College. Students will have access to designated classrooms, labs and common spaces throughout the school day, while AMSS staff will continue to supervise students and deliver programming as they normally would.

The Board remains committed to providing a safe, positive and engaging learning environment for all AMSS students and will continue to share updates as information becomes available.
