​Dear Rosedale Families,
 
Lots of exciting things have been happening at Rosedale over the summer! The
modernization project has begun with updates to the gym roof, the construction of a new
storage shed and a new parking lot. The demolition of the POD area is underway and will soon
be complete. With the ongoing construction of the new wing, there will be NO ACCESS
between the North and South yards in September. Please review this communication carefully
and contact the office should you have any questions.
 
The North yard will be used by the following classrooms: Stasso, Desotti, Dent, Laucke,
Ray/Rowe, Corvers, Waller, Milne, Colman.
 
● All bus students going to the North Yard will disembark the bus, travel through the South
Yard, into the school to the gym door and exit out into the North Yard.
 
● All students who are being dropped off are to use the new “Kiss and Ride" zone in the
front parking lot. They will enter the school through the front doors and exit for the North
Yard by the gym door.
 
● Students will also be able to directly access the North Yard through the gate off Hay
Court.
 
● Walkers should use the marked walkway from Rosedale Avenue to traverse the parking
lot. They will enter the school through the front doors and exit for the North Yard by the
gym door.
 
The South yard will be used by the following classrooms: LaBelle, Weet, Tessier, Houghton,
Paton, Buchner, Lyon (Gardiner LTO).
 
● There are no changes for the bus students going to the South Yard.
 
● All students who are being dropped off are encouraged to enter the South Yard from
Rosedale Avenue. If required, they can also use the new “Kiss and Ride" zone in the
front parking lot. They will enter the school through the front doors and exit on to the
South Yard by the primary door.
 
● Students can also access the South Yard from Hay Court gate by traveling across the
North to the gym doors, entering the school there and exiting onto the South Yard.
 
● Walkers should enter via the gate at the South Yard.
 
FDK Students will access their yard from the gate in the bus loop. Students can also access the
FDK Yard from Hay Court gate by traveling across the North to the gym doors, entering the
school there and exiting onto the South Yard, walking to the FDK yard.
 
We recognize that there will be bumps in these procedures, but here are a few reminders to
help smooth the way:
 
● Please note that the entrance to the parking lot from Rosedale is an entrance only. You
must exit onto Indian Road.

● Supervision starts at 8:15 am. Please do not drop your child off before that time.

● There will be supervision in the school to assist students traversing from one yard to the
other as well as in the newly created “Kiss and Ride" Zone.

● Dismissal procedures will be the same, only in reverse.

We appreciate the grace you extend to the staff and to other parents as we navigate the
ongoing construction and the changes that will be made to established procedures.
