Safety program for students from the Lambton Kent District School Board & St. Clair Catholic District School Board to be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019.
As another school year is set to begin, Chatham-Kent Lambton Administrative School Services (CLASS) and local school bus operators are preparing parents and first-time riders from JK – Grade 1 in understanding the importance of school bus safety by hosting a First-Time Rider Orientation Day on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at two separate locations simultaneously.
Parents are encouraged to bring their children to this free session, where they will watch a brief animated school bus safety video and then board a bus for a short ride. Safety trainers will be on-site to talk to students and parents about basic school bus safety rules, how to cross the street safely and how to evacuate a bus in case of an emergency.
The sessions will run continuously beginning at 9 a.m. and last for approximately 30 minutes. No reservations are required; parents can attend with their children and participate.
