Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) is excited to welcome students and families back to school in September for the 2022-2023 school year. The first day of school is on Tuesday, September 6 for students in Grades 1-12.
The health, safety and well-being of students and staff are top priorities for the return to in-person learning. Mental Health professionals are available for students to visit throughout the year, with additional supports in place to help with safe and positive transitions back to school.

Handbook for School Success: Families are encouraged to read the LKDSB Handbook for School Success, which outlines important information for the upcoming school year, including details about support services, transportation, school programming and operating our schools. Please reach out to your school if you have any further questions. Additional information will be posted on our website at www.lkdsb.net
Kindergarten: To support a positive transition to Kindergarten, Junior Kindergarten students will have a staggered entry, with half the students attending Wednesday, September 7, and the remaining half attending on Thursday, September 8. All Senior Kindergarten students will begin full-time attendance on Tuesday, September 6. Schools will reach out to the families of Kindergarten students with more information about school start dates.
Staff and administrators will continue to promote the safe operation of schools in alignment with current Public Health directions. Prior to attending school, it is strongly recommended that all students, staff and visitors complete the daily COVID-19 School Screening assessment tool and its directions must be followed. Following public health guidance, individuals should stay home if they are feeling ill. LKDSB is prepared to respond to changes throughout the school year, if necessary, based on directions from the Ministry of Education and guidance from Public Health.
Should you have any specific questions about your child prior to the start of the school year, please reach out to your child's school.
We are looking forward to a successful and enjoyable school year. By working together, we will foster success for every student every day and continue to support the safe operation of schools.
