​The City of Sarnia has informed the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) of the termination of the crossing guard services at the intersection of Confederation Street and Ontario Street, effective January 1, 2018. On January 16, 2017, the City of Sarnia Council approved the removal of the crossing guards at this location. Neither the LKDSB, nor the City of Sarnia, are legislated to provide a crossing guard program.

Attached is a copy of the letter from the City of Sarnia. Please review this document for further information about the crossing guard service.

To ensure continuing student safety, I encourage you to review traffic safety procedures with your child. A helpful pedestrian safety resource is available on the Lambton Public Health website.
