Wallaceburg District Secondary School is hosting a Skilled Trades Night on Thursday, May 9th from 6-8 pm in the WDSS Main Gym. Local industry, union representatives, college partners, and current LKDSB pathways (OYAP, SHSM, Dual Credit, etc.) will be in attendance and have information available for all attendees. This event is open to any LKDSB students in grades 7-12.
The Ministry of Education has launched the Parent's Guide to Ontario's Education System.
This new resource will provide parents with helpful information that allows them to have a stronger role and actively participate in their children's education. The guide covers a number of subjects such as knowing how their child is doing in school, learning about suspension and expulsion processes, attending a school council meeting or parent involvement committee meeting, and knowing about specialized supports to help all children succeed.
This initiative is part of the government's recent efforts to increase transparency and accountability in our school system.

Making the transition into Kindergarten is an important milestone in the lives of young children, as well as their parents and guardians. Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) has put a focus on ensuring that transition is warm, welcoming and as easy as possible.

This setup allows for you to be able to take your time, explore your future classroom, and really start to build those important relationships with our wonderful staff."
Parents and guardians with children born in 2019 or 2020, looking to have their child start Kindergarten in September 2024 can register in three, easy steps:

Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) is excited to welcome students and families back to school in September for the 2023-2024 school year. The first day of school is on Tuesday, September 5 for students in Grades 1-12.
To support a positive transition to school, Kindergarten students will have a staggered entry. Schools will reach out to the families of Kindergarten students with more information about school start dates.
