Message to the Lambton Kent District School Board community

May 14, 2020

The Lambton Kent District School Board is committed to promoting positive, safe and welcoming environments for all students, staff, parents/guardians and visitors.

All students, staff, families, and community partners have the right to feel safe in their school community. In support of promoting safe and welcoming schools, the LKDSB reminds students and staff about bullying prevention and awareness strategies and resources. The LKDSB takes any allegations of bullying seriously, including any racist, xenophobic, homophobic or other discriminatory language, and responds appropriately. Bullying behavior has a negative impact on a student's well-being and ability to learn and compromises the overall school climate.

The LKDSB and school codes of conduct apply whether persons are on school property, on school buses, at school-authorized events or activities or in other circumstances that could have an impact on the school climate.

To report bullying, students are encouraged to share information with a caring adult at home or at school. Parents/guardians and students are also able to share concerns using the Student Wellness and Bullying Intervention Hotline at each school.
