The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) has launched its new Strategic Priorities for 2020/21-2025/26 to continue the LKDSB’s mission of Fostering Success for Every Student Every Day.
The Strategic Priorities 2020/21-2025/26 are:
- Student Achievement & Well-Being: Advance high standards for innovative and responsive learning;
- Inclusive Diversity: Champion anti-oppressive education;
- Sustainable Stewardship: Optimize human, financial and physical resources; and
- Trusting Relationships: Strengthen relationships based on respectful collaboration.
As part of the implementation of the strategic priorities, LKDSB Administration outlined its Operational Plan for the 2020-2021 school year during the November 10, 2020 Board Meeting. The Operational Plan will provide a framework for programming and services, as well as support decision-making and communications with students, staff, parents/guardians and the community. This plan includes action steps, expected outlines and Senior Administration will provide updates on actual outcomes to Trustees and will continue to provide an update on the plan annually.
“The Strategic Priorities 2020/21-2025/26 build on the ongoing work throughout the Lambton Kent District School Board to support student success and well-being, as well as provide direction for the LKDSB into the future,” said Chair Jane Bryce.
“As we move forward with the implementation and in the interest of transparency, LKDSB Senior Administration has set specific operational goals in alignment with the four strategic priorities to hold ourselves, our staff and school communities accountable to these priorities,” said Director John Howitt. “Some of these goals are multi-year and throughout we remain committed to working to support student achievement and well-being; inclusive diversity; sustainable stewardship and trusting relationships.”
The Operational Plan was developed with consideration for the feedback provided by members of the public, including students, staff, parent/guardians and community members, who shared their thoughts on the most important considerations for the LKDSB to successfully implement the strategic priorities through a Thoughtexchange held in June.
