The Ontario Ministry of Education, in partnership with Ontario school boards (including the Lambton Kent District School Board) and the Educational Computing Network of Ontario (ECNO), has prepared multiple resources for school boards to share with teachers, students and staff to promote cyber safety and awareness during K-12 Cyber Awareness Month, held October 26 to November 20.
During the next four weeks, Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) will be promoting information to increase cyber safety awareness. The information will be shared on LKDSB's social media (Facebook and Twitter) feeds.
The theme for Week 1 is: “Work, Teach and Learn From Anywhere." Subjects include:
• Using secure passwords and applying good user account practices;
• Keeping your devices secure;
• Securing your home network and the risks of using Wi-Fi from other remote locations; and
• Safely using videoconferencing tools for synchronous learning.
