The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) is extending the deadline for completion of the Count Me In LKDSB Student Demographic Data Census to April 8, 2022.

The Count Me In LKDSB Student Census is voluntary and confidential and will allow us to collect information to better understand our students and school communities in support of equity, inclusion, student achievement and well-being.

The census questionnaires for students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 have been sent to parents/guardians to complete with or on behalf of their child. Elementary parents and guardians have received a message to the email address you have on file with a link to the census. Please check your inbox or junk mailbox if you have not received the census link. For the protection of personal student information, parents/guardians will need to provide their child's student number to access the census.

Students in Grades 9-12 will be provided a link to the census directly and will be provided with classroom time to complete.

See the list of census questions here.

The data will be securely stored once it has been collected and results will be kept confidential. The data will be collected in accordance with the authority of the Education Act and the guidance of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), Anti-Racism Actthe Ontario Data Standards for the Identification and Monitoring of Systemic Racism, and the Ontario Human Rights Code. Also refer to the LKDSB Protection of Student Personal Information Administrative Procedure.

If you have questions, you are encouraged to review the Count Me In LKDSB Student Census website and Frequently Asked Questions for more information. If you have specific questions about your child's voluntary participation or need access to your child's student number, please contact your child's school to follow-up.

Sincerely,

John Howitt
Director of Education
