Message to the RDHS and LKDSB community

May 14, 2020

Ridgetown District High School (RDHS) and the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) are committed to promoting positive, safe and welcoming environments for all students, staff, parents/guardians and visitors.

All students, staff, families, and community partners have the right to feel safe in their school community. In support of promoting safe and welcoming schools, RDHS and LKDSB reminds students and staff about bullying prevention and awareness strategies and resources. RDHS and LKDSB take any allegations of bullying seriously, including any racist, xenophobic, homophobic or other discriminatory language, and responds appropriately. Bullying behavior has a negative impact on a student's well-being and ability to learn and compromises the overall school climate.

The LKDSB and school codes of conduct apply whether persons are on school property, on school buses, at school-authorized events or activities or in other circumstances that could have an impact on the school climate.

To report bullying, students are encouraged to share information with a caring adult at home or at school. Parents/guardians and students are also able to share concerns using the Student Wellness and Bullying Intervention Hotline at the school.
