The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) recognizes Asian Heritage Month in May, which is an opportunity to reflect on the history and ongoing contributions of Canadians of Asian descent to support the growth and prosperity of Canada.

In support of the LKDSB’s Strategic Priority, “Inclusive Diversity: Champion anti-oppressive education,” the LKDSB is committed to promoting education, awareness and understanding of the communities it serves.

The LKDSB denounces anti-Asian racism and discrimination, and through conversations, professional development, newsletters, and curriculum lessons, we continue to highlight the importance of disrupting and dismantling social and institutional inequalities which result in the ongoing oppression and marginalization of Asian and other racialized communities. Find out more about resources available to combat anti-Asian racism and discrimination.

The LKDSB remains committed to advocating for and promoting equitable and inclusive learning and work environments for all, as well as supporting student success and well-being.

Additional information and educational resources about Asian Heritage Month are available through the Government of Canada website here.
