The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) celebrates those who dedicate their time and efforts to support student success during Staff and Volunteer Appreciation Day on Monday, October 5.
At the 44th Session of the International Conference on Education, a United Nations agency declared October 5 as World Teachers' Day. The LKDSB has expanded the focus to celebrate the contributions of all employees and volunteers who support student achievement.
“We are proud of the ongoing dedication and commitment of our staff and volunteers who work each day to support student achievement and well-being," said Chair Jane Bryce. “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I express our sincerest thanks."
“This year has been unlike any other and at a time when staff is facing new challenges and processes, LKDSB staff remain steadfast in their commitment to put students first. I thank staff and volunteers for their ongoing efforts to enhance learning opportunities for students," said Director John Howitt.
Staff and volunteers work collaboratively to support safe and welcoming school environments for students to reach their full potential. Although the pandemic has changed the way volunteers are able to engage with schools, the LKDSB appreciates the ongoing and supportive role volunteers play in fostering positive and engaging school communities.
