Dear Parents & Guardians,
Student and staff safety is a top priority of administration and staff at John McGregor Secondary School and the Lambton Kent District School Board takes all alleged threats to students and staff safety seriously.
On April 3, 2018, school administration was advised of a photo and social media post that involved school graffiti with a threatening message. Members of the school community and school administration immediately alerted the Chatham-Kent Police Service and all necessary safety protocols were followed. Upon further investigation, it was determined that this was not a threat to John McGregor Secondary School. The investigation determined this social media post is related to a school in a different school board district.
In the interest of students' safety, parents and guardians are encouraged to have ongoing conversations with their children about personal safety strategies and responsible digital citizenship. Teachers address the topic of personal safety with our students in age-appropriate ways as part of the regular curriculum, and as the need arises, to reinforce these important lessons.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the office at 519-354-1740.
