Dear parents/guardians and students,
As you may be aware, the Ministry of Education announced on Thursday, November 18, 2021 as part of “Building on Ontario's Plan to Keep Schools Safe and Open for In-person Learning" that Ontario school boards are permitted to resume regular timetabling of four courses a day for secondary school students in the Winter semester, or earlier, with the support of the local Medical Officer of Health.
The Lambton Kent District School Board is reviewing the information shared by the Ministry of Education and continuing ongoing discussions with the Chatham-Kent and Lambton Medical Officers of Health regarding planning for the second semester for secondary students. The health and safety of students and staff and maintaining continuity of in-person learning are at the forefront of our decision-making. No decisions about the Semester 2 timetable have been made at this time.
More information will be communicated to students, families and staff once plans have been finalized.
If you have specific questions or concerns about your child, please contact your school.
Sincerely,
John Howitt
Director of Education
