COVID-19 Update - March 11, 2020 4:20 p.m.

March 11, 2020

The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) is aware the World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus (COVID-19) as a pandemic. As with all health-related matters, the LKDSB takes direction from the local and provincial Medical Officers of Health, the Public Health Agency of Canada and our Pandemic Influenza Protocol/Plan.

The LKDSB has been closely monitoring information from local and provincial Medical Officers of Health and the Government of Canada and is awaiting further direction from the local and provincial Medical Officers of Health.

The LKDSB will continue to post information from the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health and Chatham-Kent and Lambton Public Health regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) on the Board and school websites to inform school communities as it becomes available.

The LKDSB recently reviewed its Pandemic Influenza Protocol/Plan Administrative Procedure and has determined that current conditions meet the “Stage 1: Pre-Pandemic – Human Infection Confirmed Elsewhere." A letter was shared with the school community this morning addressing the areas our plan requires. The LKDSB is prepared to implement Stage 2, should it be deemed necessary.

All updates regarding COVID-19 will be posted on the LKDSB website here.

Please read an important message to parents/guardians distributed earlier today (March 11).
