Get Involved: How to Volunteer at Our School!
We are always excited to welcome parents, caregivers, and community members who wish to support our students and school events! Whether you want to assist with school council activities, supervise field trips, read with students, or help coach sports, your time and involvement make a huge difference in our school community.
How to Get Started
Contact the Office Reach out to our office to confirm current volunteer opportunities and discuss how you would like to get involved.
Obtain a Police Record Check (PRC) Depending on the type of volunteer activity, you will need to apply for a Police Record Check in the municipality or region where you live:
Level 2 – Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC): Required for day field trips, school events, and classroom activities held under staff supervision. Note: CRJMCs are free of charge for volunteers.
Level 3 – Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC): Required for overnight field trips, coaching, or roles working directly with students in a position of trust. You will need a letter from the school specifying your role before applying for a VSC.
Submit Your Clearance Once you receive your cleared Police Record Check, submit it to the principal for approval before beginning any volunteer work. (If you have children attending multiple schools in the board, one clearance check can be coordinated across schools—just let the principal know!)
You will have to apply for a Police Record Check in the jurisdiction in which you live. Once you receive your police reference check clearance, please submit it to your school principal, to be cleared as a volunteer.
Before volunteering, you must have a CLEAR Police Record Check.
Volunteers in schools cannot perform activities that are the responsibility of school staff.
