Ontario Student Nutrition Program

At Colonel Cameron Public School, we are proud to partner with the Ontario Student Nutrition Program (OSNP) to provide daily and nutritious snacks for all students. Our snack program is designed to support student well‑being by ensuring every child has access to healthy food choices that fuel learning, focus, and overall success at school.

Each day, students receive a fresh, healthy snack that may include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy or protein options. Items are selected to align with OSNP nutrition guidelines and to encourage students to try a variety of wholesome foods. Our staff prepare and distribute snacks in a safe, organized, and inclusive manner so that all students can participate. Our snack program also encourages healthy eating by supporting special school events such as fruit and veggie day, bagel day and a pancake breakfast.

Our school community also offers a wonderful Breakfast Program to our students. We receive generous donations from CF Industries, Corunna No Frills, Colonel Cameron families and volunteers to make this program possible. We believe that a well-nourished child who starts the day with breakfast is more likely to be a better learner with an enhanced ability to focus on school tasks.

Both of these programs play an important role in creating a positive school environment where students feel supported and ready to learn. We are grateful for OSNP’s continued partnership and for the community support that makes this program possible at Colonel Cameron.
