Student Nutrition
Fueling Our Bobcats: The BDHS Nutrition Program
At Blenheim District High School, we believe that a well-fed student is a focused student. We are proud to offer a daily snack program designed to keep our community energized and ready to learn.
This program is made possible through the generous support of the Blenheim and Merlin School Breakfast Program and the Ontario Student Nutrition Program, ensuring our students have access to nutritious options every single day.
🍎 What’s on the Menu?
You can find fresh snacks at three convenient locations throughout the school. Our daily rotation may include the following:
Fresh Fruit: Apples and bananas.
Protein & Crunch: Crackers and cheese, Goldfish crackers, and cereal.
On-the-Go Favorites: Granola bars, applesauce, and fruit cups.
Baked Goods: Delicious muffins and cookie bars, freshly prepared by our very own BDHS Foods classes.
🤝 A Community Effort
This program is a true team effort! Our Foods classes take on the leadership role of preparing the snacks—slicing cheese and portioning out crackers, goldfish, and cereal to ensure everything is ready for their peers.
We also want to give a huge shout-out to Giant Tiger and TMG Produce, who deliver fresh supplies to the school weekly.
đź’ˇ Access for Everyone
The Nutrition Program is available to all students. We encourage everyone to practice responsible use of these resources so that there is enough for everyone to enjoy - take only what you need to use, use what you do take appropriately and respectfully, leave some for others, and clean up after yourself.
Need a little extra? If you find yourself needing more than what is provided at the snack stations, please don't hesitate to stop by the main office. We are here to help!
NOTE:
The Ontario Student Nutrition Program provides students with free, nutritious snacks, breakfasts, and lunches to support their learning and overall well‑being.
This program is available in our school and community locations across Ontario and is open to all children and youth.
