Travel for Credit


​Civics and Careers​

The Lambton Kent District School Board and EF have partnered to create a wonderful and unique experiential learning opportunity this coming summer. Students can take their Civics and Careers course online (and face to face) at the beginning of July and then students will travel on a tour towards the end of July 2020 and earn a credit. 

A parent information night will be held on Tuesday October 8th at the Chatham Board Office at 6pm and Wednesday October 9th at the Sarnia Board Office at 6pm.  Please RSVP to the meeting using this link:​​

​Questions about the course can be directed to LKDSB Secondary Program Consultant Nicole Beuckelare. Questions about the tour can be addressed to the EF Traveller Support team at 1-800-263-2806 open weekdays until 8pm.

Civics and Careers (CHV201/ GLC201)

​Traveling to Ottawa, Montreal and New York City. The price of the program and full itinerary is indicated on the website and includes the optional protection plan of $105 (but you can opt out of within 30 days). The prices are based on 35+ students for this tour.  The school board has requested that families pay in full by credit card OR go on the monthly (or even bi-weekly) payment plan via direct debit which allows you to pay off the trip until a month prior to the tour.

Taiwan - Cooperative Education

​The Lambton Kent District School board, in partnership with Foresight International Education Center offers a 1.0 credit​, 2 week long cooperative education opportunity in New Taipei, Taiwan.  Students travel to Taiwan to experience the culture, while completing an 80 hour placement in either hospitality, education or manufacturing.

Eligible students must be in grade 11, 12 or 12+.   Students travel dates are approximately March 12th - March 30th.  Students are responsible for making up work missed for the week of March 23rd - 30th.
