LKDSB Celebrates Islamic History Month and Latin American Heritage Month

This year, in October, our schools are thrilled to celebrate two vibrant and meaningful occasions: Islamic History Month and Latin American Heritage Month! 

Islamic History Month is a special time for us to recognize and honor the incredible contributions of the Muslim community in Canada. From advancements in science, medicine, and astronomy to their impact on humanities and beyond, this month is dedicated to appreciating the rich heritage and progress made by Muslim scholars and innovators.

At the same time, we are excited to celebrate Latin American Heritage Month, which highlights the diverse and dynamic cultures of Canadians from Latin America. Our Latin American community brings a wealth of cultural richness and their entrepreneurial spirit and vibrant traditions contribute significantly to the tapestry of Canadian society. 

We encourage everyone to engage in learning about and appreciating these remarkable heritages. Wishing everyone a joyous and enlightening Islamic History Month and a colourful Latin American Heritage Month!
