What is a strike?
Any action or activity by a unionized employee group in combination, or in concert, or in accordance with a common understanding that is designed to curtail, restrict, limit or interfere with the operation or functioning of one or more school programs, including, but not limited to, programs involving co-instructional activities, or, of one or more schools including, without limiting the foregoing:
(i) Withdrawal of services,
(ii) Work to rule, or
(iii) The giving of notice to terminate contracts of employment.

Will the strike have any impact on student safety?
In the event of a strike action involving any of the union groups, LKDSB Senior Administration, Principals and Vice-Principals will work together with staff to maintain caring, safe and positive school environments for students.
Student safety and learning remain a top priority for all LKDSB staff and the LKDSB will be taking all measures to ensure the educational impact on students is minimized.
Is it possible to get a permit to use the school or part of a school for other activities during the strike action?
