Please contact your student's secondary school Guidance Department to discuss Summer Semester course offerings.
The Secondary Summer Semester Program is open to secondary students in the summer following their grade 9 year.
Grade 9 students are eligible to take grade 9 courses and are also eligible to take grade 10 Civics and Careers.
Students in grades 10 through 12 are eligible to take all courses provided they have the required prerequisite.
Students may only complete one credit in the summer semester. The only exception is for students eligible for Civics (CHV2O) and Career Studies (GLC2O) which are both 55 hour half credit courses that will run concurrently.
Secondary students with the Lambton Kent District School Board, or students from a board with membership in the Ontario eLearning Consortium, (http://oelc.ca/) are eligible to register providing he/she meets the program requirements.
Courses will run pending sufficient enrolment.
Decisions about course cancellations will be made by early June.
Course material will be delivered in an e-Learning format.
All students will complete an online orientation as part of their course material.
It is recommended that all students work from a Summer Semester location for the remainder of the program, but will have the option to work from home.
Daily attendance will be taken via the e-Learning classroom.
Students are expected to log in every day, to hand in course work by the assigned due date, and to write the final exam, as applicable, on the exam date (July 30, 2018).
The Summer Semester program ends on Monday, July 30, 2018. There will be no opportunity to submit course work beyond this date.
It is important that the Summer Semester Office is contacted immediately if a student is having difficulty with the Summer Semester Course.
