Supervision of Students
​It is our intention to provide a safe environment for the students during the school day.  Please note there is no formal outside supervision of students prior to 9:00 a.m.  Teacher supervision outside starts at 9:00 a.m.

Student Safety
​In the morning, students enter through the North West entrance of WDSS 7-8 which is off of Selkirk Street.  After 9:15 a.m., all students must enter through the front door of WDSS on Elgin Street.  The WDSS 7-8 doors are locked during the day to ensure student safety. If you are picking up your child during the day, please go directly to the main office at WDSS which is located on the first floor.  Your child will be escorted to the main office to meet you.

Chess Club
​ The Chess Club will be starting up again this year. Mr. Jordan Ray is the teacher advisor. Please listen to announcements toward the end of October. Any students who are interested in playing chess are welcomed, even if you have never played. The Chess Club meets weekly and some students will be invited to the Chatham-Kent Regional Chess Tournament in the Spring.
