Welcome to the Northern School Library
 Learning Commons
The Hippest Place in the School

Please return your library material for summer break

N.C.I.V.S. Library provides students and faculty with materials that support research, enrichment, and relaxation. Non-fiction, reference, and database material support the curricular content of the school. The fiction collection provides the students with a wide selection of classic literature, as well, popular titles to support leisure reading. Our graphic novels collection is growing and our Fun Reads area is popular.

What is a learning commons? Your Library is Leading Learning by adopting the Standards of Practice as written by the Canadian Library Association in their Report. NCIVS has partnered with the St. John's Ambulance Therapy Dog Program to serve our Students, especially during exam periods. Studies have shown that holding or petting an animal helps release strain and tension, as well as ease feelings of loneliness and depression.

Shell is our Partner In Resource Sharing. Thank you for supporting our Library and our Students
