e-Learning
Ontario
E-Learning Ontario is a project of the Ministry of Education in Ontario, that provides e-Learning courses and educational resources
to participating school boards. This gives school boards new ways to teach Ontario's curriculum and help their students succeed.
While school boards retain full responsibility for the delivery
of courses and resources at the local level, e-Learning Ontario
provides leadership, software tools, and guiding policies.
For more information, refer to the
Components of Ontario's e-Learning Strategy.

Attendance
- The Ministry of Education requires that attendance be
taken in all courses. Due to the nature of e-Learning,
the student is not present in a normal congregated class
where attendance is readily visible. The following
guideline has been agreed to with the Ministry and eLearning
personnel at this time.
- A student is deemed present if they:
- Login to the e-Learning
classroom (D2L) 5 different days out of 7,
- Actively participate
in the e-Learning classroom a minimum of one time per week.
Active participation includes any activity normally
associated with e-Learning. This may include, but is
not limited to, participation in a threaded discussion or
handing in an assignment via the dropbox.
- The e-Learning classroom timestamps all activity within
the student account.
