 This Web site contains a multitude of lessons from the Canadian Media Awareness Network. Search by subject, grade level, or simply browse the entire impressive collection. Advertising All Around Us is a good place to begin raising students' consciousness about the ubiquity of advertising and encourages them to look critically at brand culture.

 

Web Exhibits

Web Exhibits is an online museum, with exhibits that encourage people to ask questions and examine issues from several points of view. This online museum was created by Michael Douma and the Institute for Dynamic Educational Advancement in collaboration with Brandeis University, the National Gallery of Art, and  Museo Nacional del Prado.
 

True Tales of Adventure for Young Explorers

This site is based on published accounts of explorers who traversed Canada's rivers and Arctic water in hopes of getting around North America. There is an extensive "For Teachers" section listing outcomes, teaching strategies, as well as additional web resources.

This award winning web site is where students can learn about the uses of math in the real world. Click Newspaper: Digital Deadlines and let students explore advertising revenue, sport statistics, and the challenges of page layout. 


Grammar Bytes

Grammar Bites, created by Robins Simmons, provides free exercises and tutorials on proper punctuation, irregular verbs, and word use There are also more than 30 interactive exercises and downloadable handouts.



 

Exploring the Environment

This award winning site is supported by NASA's Learning Technology Program. There are 18 extraordinary lessons on topics ranging from water quality and volcanoes to mountain gorillas and the Florida Everglades.
