It is the policy of the Lambton Kent District School Board to recognize the right of parents to home school their children in accordance with Section 21(2)(a) of the Education Act, which states that: “A child is excused from attendance at school if, (a) the child is receiving satisfactory instruction at home or elsewhere.” Implementation Date: September 23, 1998 Revised: October , 2002 Reference: Education Act, Regulation, Administrative Procedures Policy in PDF; Regulation in PDF If a student of compulsory school age is withdrawn from school to have home study, the parent shall notify the Director in writing of their intent to provide home schooling for their child or children.
